Welcome!
Welcome to a page full of Queer Hindu joy!
Growing up, I always thought being queer and Hindu was mutually exclusive. In finding myself as an LGBTQ person I felt like I had to abandon my faith and it always made me feel like I was missing a part of myself. As I reached adulthood I re-introduced myself to Hinduism and found that the scripture, research, and Sanskrit actually showed that Hinduism not only is accepting of the LGBTQ community but that it also contains multitudes of medical scripture (like the Sushrata Samhita) and stories of Queer deities themselves (Shikandi, Bahuchara Mata, Mohini, Ardhaniswara, Bhaghirata's moms and more!)
In my journey, I've found queer Hindu academics that have changed my life like Ruth Vanita, multiple Hindu pandits and panditas that perform queer weddings and so much queer Hindu joy, community, and love. I hope this page is one step towards your journey in self-acceptance and queer joy.
