Welcome!
I grew up in the conservative evangelical church my entire life always being told that LGBTQ+ people were unholy and that Jesus could change them into the way God designed us – cis men and women with opposite-sex attractions. It wasn’t until when I found out that I was gay that I began questioning that theology. As we all were in our bubbles during the pandemic, I began to craft my list of resources for those who were just like me – queer and Christian. Beloved, may these resources help you grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ, the one who continues to love you and invites you to love others and yourself.
The library below represents Beloved Arise’s work over the last two years to publish content that empowers and equips Christian LGBTQ+ youth to deepen their faith and embrace their God-given identity.

Reconciling Ministries Network →
The Reconciling Ministries Network is an organization seeking the inclusion of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in both policy and practices of the United Methodist Church.
Many Voices is a Black church movement for gay and transgender justice. Many Voices envisions a community that embraces the diversity of the human family and ensures that all are treated with love, compassion, and justice.

The Reformation Project is a Bible-based, Christian organization that works to promote the inclusion of LGBTQ people by reforming church teaching on sexual orientation and gender identity.

For Christian parents of LGBTQ+ kids
OrganizationSFreedHearts works to support Christian parents of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) children, and offer them resources to “help parents reconcile their faith with their God-given desire to unconditionally accept and affirm their LGBTQ child.” Founded by Susan and Rob Cottrell in 2013. Check out Susan’s popular TED Talk with over a million views.
Greg and Lynn McDonald founded Embracing the Journey as an outgrowth of their family’s personal journey associated with having a gay child. They are bridge builders passionate about helping people lean into their journey where true healing can occur. As followers of Jesus, Greg and Lynn have first-hand experience managing the complicated feelings associated with learning their son was gay. Greg and Lynn have personally coached and counseled many hundreds of Christian parents from around the country who have lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender children.
Harbor →
Led by BT Harman, creator of the Blue Babies Pink podcast, Harbor is an online support program for parents of LGBTQ+ kids. The Harbor curriculum includes ebooks, a digital workshop, and a private online community. Parents who have joined Harbor are learning to love, support, & understand their LGBT children better.
Support ProgramHelp, my kid just came out!’ is connecting Christian parents or guardians whose kids have come out to folks from around the world. These LGBTQ+ allies are helping answer the whirlwind of questions that many families have. And, at the same time, they’re giving hope and inspiration to so many of us who may be struggling with our own journeys.
