Drew Young
Drew joined Beloved Arise in February 2023 to help rally community partners for QYF Day's inaugural National Day of Prayer.
Currently serving as the director of BAM, Beloved Arise's mentorship program, Drew is committed to nurturing the personal and spiritual growth of queer youth of faith.
With a master's in education, Drew is an educator at heart, and he passionately supports young people in finding their paths in the world. In his free time, Drew is an artistic tinkerer, unbounded by mediums, engaging in activities such as painting, sculpting, writing, glasswork, woodworking, and random creative pursuits. Nature serves as a source of renewal for him, and he enjoys exploring trails, camping, and kayaking in the Puget Sound.
Drew was raised in Protestant churches but, unable to reconcile his beliefs with those he heard from the pulpit, left the church altogether. It took nearly two decades for him to rediscover the strength of positive, loving faith spaces. This personal journey fuels his deep passion for Beloved Arise's mentorship program, connecting queer youth with adults who share similar life and spiritual experiences. It’s his hope that no young person ever feels alone in their spiritual journey.
Drew currently resides in Seattle with his husband and their dog, Teddy.
