Tyson Motsenbocker
Pronouns: he/him
Tyson Motsenbocker is a singer songwriter from Central Washington. Since his relocation to Southern California, Motsenbocker has released one full-length records and two EPs. His second album, "Someday I'll Make It All Up To You," released Feb. 2020. His sophomore release embraces life's complexities with a balance of both charm and grit as he reflects on a world he's wrestling to understand. His album pursues time's ability to both slow life down and quickly transform it, having experienced its duality after returning home from multiple tours to a nearly unrecognizable city. The jarring realization resulted in an album rich in observations about life's propensity to trick you into thinking it won't change. His songs- both lyrically and sonically- are abrasively honest. "Someday I'll Make It All Up To You" was produced by Tyler Chester (Blake Mills, Andrew Bird), with performances by Aaron Redfield, Griffin Goldsmith (Dawes), Dan Bailey (Father John Misty), James McAllister (Sufjan Stevens, Jeremy Enigk), Madison Cunningham, Sam Weber, and Matthew Wright, and was recorded almost entirely live. The project relies heavily on the performances of the musicians and the strength of the songs, not technology's ability to alter its imperfections. The result is an album perfectly imperfect, perhaps best exposing Motsenbocker's sincerest agenda to tell the truth.

“I See Forever in You”
Track No. 9 — 3:22
Tyson Motsenbocker used to play music at camps for teenagers. One day at camp, he was sitting by the water with a boy who said that he felt disqualified from participating in his church because he was gay. This song is for that boy, and it’s also for you.
“I remembered a [Bible] verse somebody told me when I was a kid,” says Tyson, “about the provision of a father.”
“Who among you will give your children a stone when they ask for bread? Or give them a snake when they ask for fish? If you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him” (Matthew 7:9-11).
“I realized that only a cruel being would purposely designate certain of his creation to be separated,” says Tyson of LGBTQ people. “I believe that everyone is an eternal soul, made in the image of the eternal.” It’s with that image of the divine in mind that he writes about both the nature of God as a loving parent and the nature of you as a beloved child.
Moreover, Tyson sings from the perspective of a friend. In the queer young person at camp, and in you, he sees beauty and divinity.

Lyrics
I See Forever in You
by Tyson Motsenbocker
Back in the weeds
When the tide was low
Answers I did not know
I can’t believe
That you should be alone
To give a son a stone
But we’re still holding on
The reins and we are quickening the pace
I see forever in you
I see forever in you
I see forever in you
I see forever in you
Who made belief
Is it the very same being
That we are meant to believe in?
It doesn’t seem
Like there’s an inbetween
That you can change or see
But we’re still holding on
The reins and we are quickening the pace
I see forever in you
I see forever in you
I see forever in you
I see forever in you
